This Privacy Policy explains how CheckYourGrade (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use checkyourgrade.comand our online presence grading service (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Business identifiers you enter into the grader — business name, address, website URL, and description.
  • Contact details when you fill out our contact form — name, email address, phone number (including country code), and the message you send us.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data required to deliver the site — IP address, browser type, device type, referrer, and pages viewed.
  • Cookies and similar technologies used to remember your preferences and improve the Service. See our Cookie Policy.

Information from third parties

When you ask us to grade a business, we fetch publicly available data from sources such as Google Business Profile, the business’s own website, and public review platforms. We do not collect private information from these sources.

2. How we use information

  • To generate online presence grades, reports, and recommendations.
  • To respond to contact form submissions and quote requests.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service providers who run the infrastructure we depend on — including Convex (database and backend), Vercel (hosting), Google Places (business data), and OpenRouter (AI processing).
  • Legal requests when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users.

4. Data retention

Scan results may be retained indefinitely to serve public reports and improve our grading models. Contact form submissions are retained for as long as needed to respond and follow up on the inquiry. You can request deletion at any time.

5. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@checkyourgrade.com.

6. International transfers

CheckYourGrade is operated globally and may process data in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers, subject to appropriate safeguards.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
